Following our recent Annual General Meeting, we are pleased to share some highlights, including our 2023-2024 Annual Report.
Over the past year, our role as a national health peak has been underscored by the hard work of our members, partners and supporters.
We have continued to grow our membership, strengthen partnerships and have seen an increase in donations.
We have spoken at national forums, hosted webinars, facilitated a women’s health policy community of practice, mobilised consumers, and developed an e-learning platform.
All these efforts have sparked unprecedented public interest in the Alliance. It is clear that our voice, advocating for health policies centred on gender equity, feminism, and social models of health, is both valued and sought after.
Despite being a national network with representation from every state and territory, we remain a volunteer-driven organisation, sustained by membership fees, donations, and volunteer energy. Our government funding, though appreciated, is limited. It is disappointing that the success of our Women’s Health Hub has not yet translated into long-term peak funding.
It’s time to raise our voices about critical issues such as access to education, housing, economic security, and connection to self, Country, culture, and kinship. It’s time for Australia to invest in gender-responsive health.
