We are excited to launch ‘Healthy women’ our new webinar series on women’s health and wellbeing presented by Australian Women’s Health Alliance CEO, Professor Sandra Creamer AM (Waanyi Kalkadoon) and Associate Professor Nina Lansbury, School of Public Health at The University of Queensland.

Date: Thursday August 21 2025
Time: 12-1pm QLD time

Our new webinar series and associated podcast will bring the human face to the story of our health. We hope to translate key research to put the power of decision-making into the hands of women and carers of women. We will do this in a yarning style so that the webinar has a relaxed and inclusive approach.

Each episode, we will reach out through our networks to bring you high quality health research that is tailored for listeners to clearly understand their options and to make informed decisions about their health and that of the people in their care.

We want to share this information with all women and from different levels of education, and from different paid and unpaid roles in our society. In doing so, we hope to bring the ‘invisible women’ to the centre of an accessible conversation.

Our series intends to explore a range of health topics that have been raised by and for women as of concern and interest. These lunchtime webinars will be held every 6-8 weeks and be co-hosted by the Australian Women’s Health Alliance and the School of Public Health at The University of Queensland. The webinars will then be edited into podcasts. There will be no cost to attend the webinars nor to listen to the podcasts.

Inaugural webinar: Thursday August 21 2025

Our inaugural webinar will focus on ‘ageing, nutrition and women’s health’ and feature guest speakers Associate Professor Devi MohanDr Mikaela Wheeler and Dr Heena Akbar, all from the School of Public Health at The University of Queensland. They will draw from their and others’ research to communicate about nutrition that women need throughout their stages of life, managing aged care, ageing and age-related conditions, including dementia

This episode of the Healthy Women series on ‘ageing, nutrition and women’s health’ will be held from 12-1pm QLD time on Thursday 21 August 2025. Register and learn more about the speakers.
